Some things that Grandpa Bausch told me - He helped bring a barge of horses from Bridgeport, Ct. to New York City for an event relating to Grant's Tomb on the west side on Riverside Drive. He said he was in Sousa's band and played the cymbals or something like that. When he was a boy in Germany he was a jacquard loom-setter. He came over here to America with a cousin. Firefighters to Honour Louis Bausch Sept. 15
Louis Bausch, a member of the Tunxis Hill Volunteer fire company and a
volunteer fireman almost 50 years, will be honored by the Tunxis Hill fire company
at a stag party Sept. 15.
A committee comprised of James Bennett, Frank Stopa, Louis Stopa and Edward Lasko
has been named to complete arrangements for the affair.
