Feb, age 43, marr 1 1/2 years ?(indistinct), b. Germany, parents b. Germany, emigrated to US 1870, 30 yrs in US, Naturalized, read/write/speak English,Owns home (house) free of debt. !An article in probably a Grants Pass, Oregon newspaper, gives info about John Henry and wife, Susanna. The home is on the National Register of Historic Places and is being remodeled as a Bed and Breakfast house, listed on the Internet. The Ahlfs were said to live in the house for 44 years. !OCCUPATION:Article above states he was a butcher, meat packing plant owner, area representative for Armour and Co. of Chicago for 31 years. !According to Kent Ahlf, Johannes/John left Burg, Germany, went to Davenport, Iowa in 1882, went to Roseburg, Oregon in 1884, settled in Grants Pass, Oregon in 1888. !
