ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Maxine H. Ahlf, 90, St. Petersburg, Fla., died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, in Westminster Shores Health Care Center, St. Petersburg, Fla. Maxine was born Dec. 16, 1912, in Peoria, Ill. a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Marie Fagan Wikel. Maxine was a former resident of Redford, Mich. She was employed by Michigan Bell Telephone for several years as a long distance operator. She also worked as a Realtor in Michigan. Maxine was a Lutheran by faith. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Marion A. Myers of Holiday, Fla., who died in 1969. Also deceased is her second husband, Walter Ahlf of Clearwater, Fla., who died earlier this year. Maxine is survived by her daughter, Betty J. Yester of St. Clair Shores, Mich.; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren. To honor Maxine's requests, no visiting hours will be observed. Grave side services and burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, in Salem-Union Cemetery, Port Washington. Dr. William C. Haggis will officiate.
