Notes for this person
Diebald (Theobald) Faul (born in Pirmasens or Gersbach ?, Germany) married Ottelia ______? before 1641(see discussion below). They evidentally did not marry in Pirmasens or the record would probably be in the church books. Diebald was a miller in Gersbach and Simten. Diebold died and was buried on 14 September 1669. Their children: 1. Jacob Faul - b. October 1641 at Gersbach. Sponsors: Herr Oswald Stegner, magistrate from Pirmasens; Ottilia, Arbogast Segmuller's housewife from Pirmasens, and Jacob Huttmacher of Lemberg. 2. Arbogast Faul b. 18 September 1643 at Gersbach, Sponsors: Arbogast Seegmuller of Pirmasens; Ebert Faul of Winzeln, and Daniel Schweitzer of Gersbach. 3. Michael Faul - b. 1648 married Elisabeth Hirschbronner The wife of Diebold may have been Ottilia Seegmuller. The reason for thinking this might be possible is because she could have been a sister of Arbogast. Arbogast and Ottelia were both sponsors for two of their children and one was named after Arbogast. Source: Clifford Canfield The info fro DIEBOLD FAUL comes from two sources, the first being the base for the second. Resource #1 is the Prostenant Lutheran Church records from Pirmasens, Rehinland/Pfalz, Germany sometimes listed as Bayern or even Bavaria. There is also Walter Siegel's book, 'PIRMASENS, 1. TEIL: SIPPEN IN DORF UND KIRSCHSPIEL, 1640-1740', and Walter Wittmer's double volume, 'SIPPENBUCH DER STADT PRIMASENS VON 1640-1798'. The sources generally agree that DIEBOLD FAUL was a miller in Gersbach and Simten, and the he was buried in Pirmasens. DIEBOLD and EBERT FAUL and thier wives were Godparents turn and turn about for each other's children. It is possible that they were related but there is no proving that at this time. There is no idication that these three children were the only children that this couple had. They are the only ones that we know about.) Source: Dorothea Saavadra.

Description | Der Schwerpunkt meiner Forschung liegt in der West-Pfalz (Raum Zweibrücken, Pirmasens, Waldfischbach, Trippstadt). Geschichtlich interessieren mich besonders die Einwanderung in diesen Raum ab dem 17. Jahrhundert und die Berufsgruppen der Müller und Förster. |
