HisgrandmotherBridget White named him as Napolen White, son of herdaughter Nancy White, and left him 25 acres in Dolls Swamp that shepurchased from the executors of Elijah A.White. Napoleon was listed as a head of household in thecensus of 1850at St. Georges Parish, Accomack, Virginia. He was shownas Napoleon O. Whitethehead of HH#311, a 42-year-old blacksmith withreal estate valued at $3,000. Listed with him were the followingWhites--Jno. H. a 17-year-old student, Jas. N.age 15, Margaret A. age12, And Wm. W. age 9. Also listed were Catharine Philipsage 24, andthe followingblacks; Sylvester Beckett a 17-year-old laborer, MosesRobertsage 15, Jacob Roberts age 12 and Cassy Blake age 15. InNovember 1854, Napoleon reported the death of his son, James N. White,who died of typhoid fever atthe ageof 19. Napoleon died on January31, 1880 at Missouri. He was shown as Napoleon O. White, who died inMissouri of unknowncauses at the age of 73. He was born in Accomack, afarmer and a widower. His son Oswald F.
