He was born on the 4th May 1748 in the village Zaschwitz in the Kiebitz parish near Doebeln in Saxony in Germany. His parents were Martin and Maria Hempel. (H13)

Marriage:
He married the single Anna Veronika Fischer, who was from the village Kleinweitzschen, which is also in the Großweitzschen parish, on the 1st of September 1776 in the church in Großweitzschen. (H7, A2)
They lived in the Großweitzschen parish until 1783. Then they moved to the village Minkwitz in the nearby Leisnig parish. (H7, H2)
Death:
He died at 4 a.m. on the 13th of November 1814 in Minkwitz. He was 66 years old and died of Flußfieber. He was buried in the cemetery in Leisnig two days later. He left behind his wife and three daughters. (H2)
Other Information:
1. According to the State Archives of Saxony in Leipzig, a Pferdner is a farmer who has his own land, a house and a horse. Such a property is called a Gut in Saxony.
