1. Last Will and Testament September the 15th 1842. While my wish and desire is that I should dojustice both to my wife and children therefore it is necessary to makethis my last will and testament so that all difficulties and quarrelsmay be prevented not knowing how soon I may be called by the Ruler ofall from time into eternity. Therefore it is my will that of theproperty that I now have my wife shall keep for her share eighty acresof land the same being on Haw Creek to wit Section 25, township 43,Range 20 from which she shall pay to Claus Heinrich my son the sum ofone hundred dollars. Second the ninety dollars with which I havebought the following land to wit section 5, township 42, range 20shall be the property of my wife during her life after her death thesame shall descend to the person with which she shall last reside.Thirdly that the money which is coming to us from John Frederick Hopsand Johann Bames and Johann Henry Ehlen and one Bedstead and Bed andstove shall be hers my wifes my four children the first named Gesche25 years of age has already received one hundred and fifty dollars inthe year A.D. 1839. Second Becke twenty three years of age has alsoreceived one hundred and fifty dollars in the year 1839. ThirdlyLudowick twenty one years of age shall have all the Horses, cattle,Hogs, Bees & c. and household and Kitchen furniture now at the placewhere I live and also the improvement where I live. Lastly ClausHeinrich 13 years of age shall have first forty acres of land on ColeCamp Creek and the one hundred dollars to be paid by my wife withinterest on the same from the time he is fourteen years old at six percent per annum.
