Obituary Published in the Jacksonville Journal-Courier on May 15, 2009 Harold J. Tomhave 1912 - 2009 Harold J. Tomhave, 97, of Jacksonville, died Tuesday, May 12, 2009, atBarton W. Stone Home in Jacksonville. He was born Feb. 18, 1912, in Scott County, the son of John G. andRuth Ella Conrady Tomhave. He married Pauline Witte on April 28, 1937,in Arenzville, and she preceded him in death March 12, 2004. He is survived by two sons, Wayne P. (wife, Karen) Tomhave ofJacksonville and Ronald H. (wife, Donna) Tomhave of Pittsfield; twodaughters, Haroldine J. (husband, Rev. Lawrence) Witto of Fenton,Mich., and Karen (husband, Rev. Richard) Ramirez of Fairview Park,Ohio; 12 grandchildren, Heather (Witto) Weisz, Sheila (Witto)Neuenfeldt, Katherine Witto, Gregory Witto, Christine (Witto)Schobert, John Tomhave, Phil Tomhave, Ben Tomhave, Julie (Tomhave)Faulkner, Brad Tomhave, David Ramirez and Christine Ramirez; 23great-grandchildren; and one nephew, David Tomhave of Springfield. Hewas preceded in death by one brother, Earl Tomhave; and one nephew,James Tomhave. Mr. Tomhave was a retired farmer. He was a longtime member of SalemLutheran Church where he served on various committees. He served onthe board of directors for Morgan County Service Company and FarmBusiness Farm Management. He enjoyed golfing and was a lifelongChicago Cubs fan. A funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday at Salem LutheranChurch in Jacksonville, with burial at Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Thefamily will meet friends from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at the WilliamsonFuneral Home in Jacksonville. In lieu of flowers, memorials aresuggested to Salem Lutheran Church or Barton W. Stone Home.Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.
