1. Obituary Martha Adeline, daughter of Adam and Mary Ann Teter was born nearUpton, Iowa, April 6, 1859 and passed away August 16, 1927 at 7:20p.m. at the age of 68 years, 4 months and 10 days. She was reared to young womanhood on the same place. December 6th 1883she was united in marriage to John E. Silver of Home prairie. To thisunion were born two children, Oris Cleon who passed away September 181902, Lula Belle who was with her to the last. Her companion passed onAugust 20, 1910. Besides the daughter she leaves the son-in-law whowas truly a son to her and who was appreciated as one, grandson J.Everet Silver Hoskin, who was the pride of her heart, one sister, JaneAlice passed away in infancy, another sister, Susanna and one brotherJohn Franklin passed away a number of years ago also Mrs. IsabelleMcLeland, Dec. 25, 1923. Others left are brothers Will, [O.] E. andHugh of Cantril, Iowa and G. R. of Moberly, Missouri, besides a numberof nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. To know her was to love her. It is not necessary to say more as thelife she has lived will speak for itself. She united with the UnitedBrethern [sic] Prairie View Church when still quite young and herletter was transferred to the Me. E. Church at Upton, Iowa, whichstill remains there as she was so hopeful there still might be churchthere. The family would like to take this way of thanking each and every onefor floral offerings, singers and every one that helped in any way.Your services will always be remembered.
