1. Obituary from The Wichita Eagle Ray Arue Myers, 91, retired Cessna Aircraft Co. superintendent of 34years and Myers Nut Farm owner and operator, died Saturday, Aug. 24,2002. Visitation 1 to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday;service 10 a.m. Tuesday, all at Smith Mortuary; burial service 2:30p.m. Tuesday, Wakita (Okla.) Cemetery. Mr. Myers was born March 12, 1911 in Wakita, Okla., the son of thelate Charles David and Mary Ellen Cranmer Myers. On March 30, 1935 he married Nellie Winona Myers in Springfield, Colo. A resident of Mulvane since 1946 he was a member of the MulvaneNazarene Church. He was a 22 year member of the Mulvane PlanningCommittee, a two year past president of the Kansas Nut Growers Assn.,a four year member of Mulvane Co-op Board, member of the MulvaneElection Board, a substitute teacher at both Mulvane Junior and SeniorHigh School. He was a local Mulvane farmer, and an avid dog trainer.He also developed the Inventory Control System at Cesna in the early1940's. Preceded in death by brothers, John, George, Jean and Earl Myers;sisters, Pearl Holmann, Bessie Guthrie. Survivors: wife of 67 years; son and daughter-in-law, James and EttaMae "Julie" Myers of Stephenville, Texas; brother and sister-in-law,Ross and Martina Myers of Mulvane; sister, Letha Baker of Spiro,Okla.; grandchildren and spouses, Margaret and Bill Hoogstra, Jamesand Linda Myers, Dwayne Myers; great-grandchildren, Janna, Hal andHolly Hoogstra, Bruce and Rachel Myers. Memorial established withCentral Christian College.
