1. Biography Story in the Grant County Historial book George Myers was born February 2, 1907, five miles south and one milewest of Wakita, Oklahoma on the NE1/4 22-27-7 Grant County. I was the fourth child of CharlesDavid and Mary Ellen Cranmer Myers. The only school I ever attended was Gore, Consolidated No. 1. This wasthe first Consolidated school in Oklahoma. My oldest sister Pearl started there when it first openedin January 1908. There were six kid wagons pulled with horses. The drivers left home at 4:30 A.M.Dad put Pearl on the wagon by lantern light. When it rained a four horse team was used. From thetime school started until it closed, one of my family attended this school. Either my brother, sister, orone of my family attended Gore school except the last two years whenPamela graduated out of the eight grade and went to High School at Wakita. On March 15, 1933, I married Pauline, daughter of Daniel K. and BessieSmith Craven. Two years later Ellen Lavonne was born on January 9, 1935. I don't know whetherI was proud or what, but I thought she was the prettiest baby I had ever seen. Two years laterEldon Leon was born January 1, 1937. He was a sleepy head. He always wanted to go with me but twomiles from home he would be asleep. Gary Dean was born in 1941. At two years and eight monthsof age he died of Leukemia. I could write a lot about him but space does not allow. Patricia Joanwas born September 1, 1943; Alvin Ray was born July 23, 1949; Pamela Darlene was born July 3,1951. Lavonne married Ellis M. States and to this union was born ChrisEdward and Laura Charisse. Eldon married Sharon Morris and had three children Brett, MarkStephen, and Cheri Lee. Brett is married to Tammy Dillon and to this union was born Adriene NicoleMyers. Patricia married J. D. Stormont and their children are Jay Darren andTerrill Dean. Alivn married Margaret Bain and their children are Shelli Dawn,Heather Diane, and Jason Heath. Pamela married Michael Miles and to this union was born JenniferShanon and Michael Shea.
