Clore-Glore Genealogy manuscript by Delma Rae Carpenter, Sr.(1881-1967) Pages 21-22: Margaret Clore (daugther of Michael Clore) is to be distinguished fromher sister Agnes Margaret Clore who married Michael Oneal. On oneoccasion the latter signes her name as Margaret Oneal, in the deed ofApril 9, 1763. Margaret married Paul Lederer (Leatherer and laterLeathers) before June 20, 1751 on which date Michael Clore and JohnClore sold to Peter Leatherall (undoubtedly a perversion forLeatherer) 100 acres. Paul Lederer was in the Hebron community asearly as July 13, 1737 on which date he witnessed deed of NicholasYeager to Adam Yeager. It would seem that he was of marriageable ageat this time or soon after. Paul Lether (with Johannes Klor andDorothea Klor) was sponsor at the christening of Ludwig Krickler, bornOctober 1, 1764, son of Christopher Krickler (Crigler). On June 5,1779 Paul Leatherer, Michael Leatherer, and Samuel Leather signed apetition paying for the petition of the county (Culpeper). In 1782Paul Leatherer was taxed for 161 acres. At same time John Leathererwas taxed for 250 acres. Paul Leatherer made will November 5, 1780,probated November 21, 1785, Culpeper Co., Va. The will was witnessedby John Hume, John Yowell, and James Crain. Testator mentions wifeMargaret (last mention found of Margaret), and children MichaelLeatherer, Nicholas Leatherer, Samuel Leatherer, John Leatherer, PaulLeatherer, Joshua Leatherer, Susannah Leatherer, Mary Yowell, andMargaret Leatherer. Sons John and Joshua are names as exectors. No other Leatherer (Lederer, Leathers) has been found comtemporarywith Paul Leatherer. It seems certain therefore that all the laterLeatherers of Culpeper Co., Va., were his descendants, thereforedescendants of Michael Clore, but the connections have not yet beenmade.
