PARENTS: MORTON gives parents as NICHOLAS & MARGARET.

Walter Eye gives father as #870 JOHN. The death record of #2782 gives his father as J & MARY. This GEORGE'S father is probably #882 NICHOLAS. In 1770, 16 acres surveyed by NICHOLAS was patented by GEORGE SIMMONS and in 1775 NICHOLAS sold GEORGE 40 acres of his 145 acre patent. These tracts are shown in the land books & a Jun 30, 1847 grant as belonging to this GEORGE who willed them in 1810 to his son JACOB. His son JACOB was probably #906 rather than #3615 who would have only been 3 years old and could not have been the executor of this GEO who died in 1810. GEORGE would have been born prior to 1750 to have been granted land in 1770, so JOHN born about 1755 could not have been his father. The part of 145 acres is given as delivered to JACOB, heir of grantee GEO on Nov 30, 1811. / DR RAYMOND BELL & 442940

WIFE: Morton gives EVE COOK married 1796 and will, wife EVE. But if married in 1796, he probably had a prior wife, since his 1810 will mentions a granddaughter. A daughter born after 1796 would have been a mother at 14 for him to have a grandchild.
