PARENTS: First appeared in tax lists as JOHN Jr, but in 1810 this was changed to JOHN of MICH. The census from 1820-40 also give JOHN of MICH. In 1816 he received land from MICH and in 1852 this land was sold as land received from father MICH.

WIFE: WALTER EYE gives gives a wife ANN STONE married in 1812. Since I think this JOHN died in 1855, his wife then was MRGT. JEFF CARR shows that ANN STONE married JOHN son of HEN and this JOHN married MRGT WIMER who is shown as married to # 872 JOHN SIMMONS by W. EYE.

CHILDREN: PHILIP is named in will. Possible: # 2196, 2189, 3252, 3320 & 3277.

All the info below is based on a deed of Feb 16, 1852 which gives JOHN's father as MICHAEL. Land books show the 100, 17, 34, 31 and 60 acre tracts going to PHILIP in 1853 "from JOHN SIMMONS of MICH" and in 1856 from "JOHN SIMMONS by will'. However, in 1857 the same tracts are shown under PHILIP and under "JOHN OF JOHN". In 1858 the same tracts are shown under PHILIP and under EPHRAIM, "from JOHN SIMMONS". /551555
