Betreff: Dietrich family Von: Datum: 02.01.2015 20:52 An: Hello Thomas, I have been researching the Dietrich family in Kr. Wirsitz. My ancestor was a Jacob Dietrich from Czarnun. I have looked at quite a few churchbooks from Kr. Wirsitz and found a Dietrich family in the Lindenwald Catholic books: There is a marriage Nov 20, 1757 in "Tunineta" (Tonin?) of Joannes Dydrich to Catharine Cucowna. They had baptisms for 3 children in Tunin: Marianne, Oct 31, 1758 Joannes, Sep 14, 1759 (who married Eva Schwanke) Anna Dorothea (?), Jan 2, 1763 Then it looks to me like this family moved to Karnowo and further children are born and recorded in the Nakel Catholic books: Paul, Jun 8, 1766 Barbara, Nov 6, 1768 Christoph, Jan 22, 1771 Eva Rosalie, Mar 18, 1773 Dorothea Elizabeth, Oct 11, 1774 (This is the only record that gives the mother as Catharine Cuc. The others all just say "Catharine.") I believe it is Joannes Dietrich, husband of Catharine Cuc, who died Oct 1, 1808 in Karnowo and recorded in the Nakel Evan books. I believe it is his wife, Catharine "Cuc" who died Mar 13, 1805 in Karnowo, als in the Nakel Ev books. But the lady who died has the name of "Zutz". Is it a reasonable assumption to think that "Cuc" became "Zutz?" I have been trying to determine if there is any relationship between the Dietrich families of Czarnun, Tonin and Karnowo as well as Kossowo but have not been very successful yet. Your information on Gedbas references a database or work done by Robin Deems. I would be interested in knowing if there is a website with this information or way of contacting Robin Deems. I am also researching the names of Zempel and Zabel and other related families that are also ancestors of mine from Kr. Wirsitz. You have done a great amount of work and it has been very helpful in verifying research I have done. Thank you! Ms. Rhoda Mackenzie Wheaton, IL, USA P.S. I am hoping/assuming you know English as my German is strictly limited to some genealogical words! |
