Lit: Dr. med. Gustav Marr, (Rote Buch), Familienerinnerungen: Er war zuerst am Zollamt in Kiel beschäftigt. 1847 kam er als Zollbegleiter auf den Dampfer "Primus" in Glückstadt, mußte aber schon im folgenden Jahr aus Gesundheitsgründen diese Stelleung aufgeben und siedelte dann nach Schleswig über, wo er bei der Regierung beschäftigt wurde.
