Immigrated 1896 with youngest son, Christian ********************************** Declaration of intention - First papers, voided sometime after October 1901 as she wouldn't renounce her allegiance to Russia. ************** Magdalena had a daughter Friederika, born Aug 25, 1857, with Heinrich Raile. She is referred to as Friederika Schniple-Raile Friederika appears with her father, Heinrich Raile, in the 1858 NRL:240, age 1/2; she married on Sep 16, 1875 to Christoph Walz. Heinrich was married to, and having children with, Christina Augusta Laitenberger, at the time he produced this illegitimate child. Heinrich apparently made a "habit" of cohabitating with other women, since he also had a child with Katharina Job in 1862, unless the scribe made an error in recording the mother's name. "SCHNIPLE" is a dialectic misspelling of SCHNAIBLE, the P & B are often interchanged in German dialects. Apparently the "Schniple-Raile" name was used by Friederika because she was actually raised in the Schnaible-Heyd household, and not in the Raile household. Even though Friederika appears in the 1858 RL with her Raile father [for "tax" purposes], she would have been too young to have left her mother. In 1858, she was probably actually living in the Heyd-Teske household, until her mother married "Christian" Schnaible in 1861, when she would have been under 4 years old. She apparently remained with her mother & stepfather, and as an adult took the name SCHNAIBLE-RAILE, which was corrupted to "Schniple-Raile." source Tom Strangl
