She was a wonderful wife, deeply honored mother, cherished grandmother, and beloved friend and neighbor. She was known throughout her life as an inspiring LDS Church teacher and speaker and an unusually successful family genealogist. She had great love for her immediate family, and also her extended family of brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends."To me each person in my family is a priceless jewel that shines brightly in my eyes," she said, "and my friends are to me as precious gems." Born January 10, 1912 in Clifton, Idaho to Carl Julius Viehweg, a German immigrant, and to Ane Kirstine Pedersen, a Danish immigrant. She graduated from Clifton High School in 1930. On May 22, 1935, she married Kenneth Christian Todd of Granger, Utah, in the Logan LDS Temple. They lived on their small Granger farm from 1935 until 1967 when they moved to Murray. She was active all her life in the LDS Church in which she served as ward Primary and Relief Society president; the majority of her life was spent as a ward and stake teacher in church auxiliary organizations. With her husband she served 18 months, 1975-77, in the Pennsylvania Harrisburg Mission. Survived by three sons, Jay M., Holladay; Leonard V, Salt Lake; and Val R., Midway; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Iryse Todd, Murray. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, January 8, 1996, at the Murray 12th Ward Chapel, 363 East Vine Street, Murray. Viewing will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, January 7, 1996, at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, and one hour prior to funeral services at the church. Burial will be in the Taylorsville, Utah Cemetery.
