Jane was probably born in the Town of Seneca Falls, the second child of Albert William WYCKOFF (1772 - 1829) and Elizabeth MAINARD or MAYNARD (c. 1770 - 1860). Her siblings were Peter (1799 - c. 1873); my ancestor Mary "Polly" (1805 - aft. 1880); Margaret (1807 - 1870); William W. (c. 1808 - 1892); Albert; John; and Joshua WYCKOFF.
When Jane was a young woman, she and her brother Peter came to the Village of Clarence Hollow, the Town of Clarence, Niagara (later it became Erie) County, New York from Seneca Falls, Seneca County, New York bystage. They walked down the Salt Road as far as Colonel Beeman's place and stayed all night. The next night they got as far as Gen. Mansfield's at Mansfield Corners. From there, and with the help of Gen. Mansfield, they established a homestead, south of the Martin Road and westof the Strickler Road. After Peter and Jane had built a log house on the homestead, their parents came from Seneca Falls, bringing with themthe three younger brothers, William, Albert and John. As this is excerpted from a history of the Kroll family, it is not certain if Polly,Margaret and William also came to Erie County around that time...it isassumed so.
Jane married George KROLL or KRULL (c. 1802 - bef. 1900) and had six known children: Caroline (b. c. 1821); Albert (b. c. 1825); Esther (b.c. 1828); Adaline (1830 - 1885); George (b. c. 1833); and Thomas Jefferson KRULL (1838 - 1906).
Jane was buried with many other WYCKOFF and KRULL relatives in the Danser/Wyckoff Cemetery, which is located on land originally part of theWyckoff homestead where she, her parents, and siblings lived, on the northeast corner of Martin and Goodrich Roads.
