Ruth E. Kreischer, 83, of Ocala, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2016. She was a native of Union, Michigan. In 1957 she and her family moved to Ocala from Elkhart, Indiana, where she was the executive secretary to the editor of the Elkhart Truth newspaper. After moving to Ocala, she had the opportunity to become a full time homemaker. To the benefit of her family, she was an amazing baker and premier seamstress. Ruth loved to play tennis, golf, and travel, but her greatest joy was her family. She participated and volunteered with the Junior Women's Club, The Royal Dames Society, and various church functions. She was a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she remained an active member until her health prevented her attendance. Survivors include her daughters Susan Thomas (John) of Leesburg, FL, Teri Wallace (Rick) of Ocala, Janet Kreischer (Anthony Rue) of Gainesville, Fla., and 4 grandchildren; Jennifer Cartlidge, Jason Lewis, Scott Wallace, and Kaitlin Wallace. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph D. Kreischer and two sisters. Visitation will be 4-6pm Tuesday, Oct 25 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services in Ocala. Funeral Service will be 10:00 am Wednesday, Oct 26, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 4001 NE 25th Ave, Ocala, FL 34479 with Pastor Myron Mader officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park, 1515 NE 3rd St. in Ocala. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Hospice of Marion County, 3231 SW 34th Ave, Ocala, FL 34474.
