William A. Brockmann, 80, 2500 N. Kuther Road, Dorothy Love RetirementCommunity, died thursday at 10:20 p.m. in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada,after an apparent heart attack. He was born May 4, 1911, in Sidney, theson of Frederick and Rosa Keplinger Brockmann. He is survived by hiswife, Rith I. Sproul, whom he married November 25, 1936; one daughter,Mrs. Jack (Jane) Van Fossen of Powell; and two grandchildren. He waspreceded in death by four sisters and two stepsisters. Mr. Brockmann wasrecently elected chairman of the Dorothy Love Residents Organization. Hewas a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, where he served aschairman of the church building committee. He was on the Church Councilfor 22 years and sang in the church choir for many years. He wastreasurer of the Sidney Noon Kiwanis for a number of years and was a 15year member of the Senior Swingers Golf Group. Mr. Brockmann retired in1976 from Copeland Corporation after serving 26 1/2 years in thePurchasing Department. Funeral Services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. in St.Paul's United Church of Christ with Dr. Keith Wagner and the Rev. FredLacuesta officiating. Burial will follow in Pearl Cemetery at Swanders.Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Cromes Funeral and from 1 to3 p.m. Sunday at the Church.
He died while traveling in Canada with his wife on a senior citizenstour.
