Notizen zu dieser Person

1. Ann (age 10) and Suantha (age 11/12 months) were enumerated in the
census of 1870 Boone co., MO census with this family but were not listed
with this family in the 1880 census. Who were these girls? Ann, aged
10, was most likely a relative from either the Woods side of the family
or from one of Congrave's relatives. Suantha (?) was most likely the
first child born to Congrave and Mattie and she probably died young.
2. Congrave J. Brockman became a mail carrier "out of Clark" about 1902
according to an article written in the Higbee News on 19 Dec 1919.
3. Obituary of C.J. Brockman copied from the Monitor-Index and Democrat:
"C.J. Brockman, 89, Former Carrier at Clark, Dies
Clark, April 3. --C.J. Brockman, 89-year old former rural mail carrier
here, died at 3:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Boone County
Hospital in Columbia. He had been in poor health for the past five
years and was taken to the hospital in a critical condition about two
weeks ago.
Mr. Brockman was born on a farm west of Renick, May 23, 1847. He was
married June 4, 1868, to Miss Mattie Woods, who died in 1919. He was a
farmer until 1903, residing on a farm between Clark and Renick. In 1903
he moved to Clark to become a rural mail carrier, and continued at that
post until 1920. Since then he had lived with his children.
Three of the couple's eight children survive Mr. Brockman. They are
Mrs. Maggie Cottingham, Clark, Mrs. Oscar Morton, Columbia, and Mrs.
Octavia Hoppes, Portland, Ore. Twelve grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren also survive.
