"DEATH OF MRS. WALKER
Our people were much surprised to learn of the death of Mrs. Nancy
Walker, which occurred at 4 a.m. Wednesday. She had been quite ill,
but was thought to be recovering. She was aged 79 years and was a
native of Illinois. She came with her husband to Oregon in 1903, the
husband dying 7 years ago. She was a faithful member of the Christian
church. Deceased is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Eva Racey, of this
city, and two sons, Charles, of Paisley, Oregon, and Fred, of Fort
Laramie, Wyoming. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. yesterday,
attended by many of our people. The remains were laid in the city
cemetery, beside those of the husband."
