Obituary as printed in the Daily Standard Union, Friday, November 03, 1916:
Wilhelmina Brakman died yesterday at her home, 682 Onderdonk Avenue, Ridgewood, after a brief illness. She was born in Manhattan seventy-five years ago and came to Brooklyn when a young girl, settling in the Eastern District.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. August Becker (Mary) and Mrs. T. Hopkins (Lottie); two sons, Peter and Edward Brakman, and a sister, Mrs. Carolina Stoll.
Funeral services will be held at her late home tomorrow at 2 p.m., the Rev. Gustave Sommers of the North Fifth Street Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be made at Union Cemetery under direction of Thomas H. Ireland off 177 North Sixth Street.
