Mildred war wie ihr Mann Arvid seit 1940 Mitglied der "Roten Kapelle", einer Widerstandsgruppe gegen das NS-Regime und Hitler. Sie wird 1942 verhaftet und vom Volksgerichtshof zu 6 Monaten Zuchthaus verurteilt. Hitler selbst soll das Urteil aufgehoben haben. 1943 wird sie erneut verhaftet und am 15. Januar in Berlin-Plötzensee hingerichtet.
