William Minett was born in 1788 in Llantilio Crossenny, Monmouthshire, Wales, the son of Hetty and Joseph. He married Sarah Bagnell on October 16, 1812, in Ely, Cambridgeshire, England. They had eight children in 21 years. He died in January 1864 having lived a long life of 76 years.
