In Justice J. H. Young's court, Sunday,

Henry E. Leslie, B. F. Linn,Taylor Linn and John Miller, all of Cromwell,

were arraigned on a charge of spearing fish. The charge wae brought

by Deputy Fish Commissioner Hamilton, who lake in which the fish

were speared. Each was found guilty and fined §5 and costs amounting

to §34.30. Leslie gave replevin bonds, but the remaining three decided

to lay out their time in jail.

Linn Taylor Shannon, 74, a retired mason and lifelong resident of this community, died Monday at his home in Cromwell from a heart ailment. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include the widow, Pearl; three sons, Everett of Cromwell, Merle of Grabill, and Earl of North Liberty; two daughters, Mrs. Minnie Nelson of Bangor, Mich., and Mrs. Dorothy Tenny of Columbia City; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Myron of Goshen, Theodore of Three Rivers, Mich., and Martin of Warsaw. + 9-?-1954 (from obituaries, Noble County INGenWeb)
