Minerva Julia Druivenga, age 87, of Lake View, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2004, at Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge, IA.
Minerva Julia Heim was born December 7, 1916, in Lafayette County, Wisconsin, to Francis and Mary (Hauser) Heim. On December 21, 1935, she was united in marriage to John E. Druivenga at the Wheatland Presbyterian Church near Breda, Iowa. To this union three daughters were born: Phyllis, Joan, and Patricia, and two stillborn sons.
They worked and lived on farms in this area all their lives. In 1975 they moved to a new home in Lake View that they helped build on the site of John’s grandparents house. Minerva ran a ceramic shop in her farm home and in her home in Lake View until 1982.
She is survived by her daughters: Phyllis (Mrs. Virgil) Auen of Wall Lake, Joan (Mrs. Bob) Altmanshofer of Carmel, IN, and Patricia (Mrs. Steve) Wilkes of Carmel, IN; four grandchildren: Kathy (Mrs. David) Stienstra of Terre Haute, IN, and Lori (Mrs. J. R.) Lapel of Wall Lake, IA, Jodi (Mrs. Gary) Hubbard of Carmel, IN, and Michael (Dawn) Altmanshofer of Fishers, IN; nine great-grandchildren: Jonathan, Lindi, and Lacey Lapel, Matthew Stienstra, Cory and Robby Lynch, Chase and Taylor Hubbard, and Karl Altmanshofer. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law: Edith Heim of Edgerton, WI, and Helen Hammerstrom of Arthur, IA, two brothers-in-law: Fred Druivenga of Carroll, IA and Fred Kuehl of Ida Grove, IA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 1981, her parents, six sisters: Regina Engelmeyer, Loretta Verbugt, Marcella Lange, Stella Wiskus, Alta Otto, and Marguerite Bergman; and two brothers: Lavern Heim and Andrew Heim.
Funeral services for Minerva are Monday, January 12, 2004, 2:00 p.m., at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Wall Lake, Iowa, with Pastor Roger Carlisle officiating. Lindi Lapel will provide special music with Carol Nuetzman, organist. Pallbearers include: Dean Ricke, Jack Hough, Henry Otto, Peter Goldsmith, Larry Dose, and Jonathan Lapel. Burial will be at the Wall Lake Cemetery.
