Donna Marie Tischer, 59, of Breckenridge, MN, died Saturday, April 4, 2009 at her home under the care of Riveredge Hospice, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Breckenridge, MN. Pallbearers will be Cal Tischer, Jesse Tischer, Shawn Tischer, Travis Tischer, Eric Kruse and Andy Blaufuss. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Breckenridge.

Donna was born on September 24, 1949 to Richard and Audrey (Daniels) Kruse in Fergus Falls, MN. She grew up on the family farm east of Breckenridge, MN. On June 13, 1970 she was joined in marriage to the love of her life, Douglas John Tischer, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Wahpeton, ND. Together they raised their two children, Heidi and Jeremy.

Donna began her professional career as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist at A.L. Vadheim Memorial Hospital in Tyler, MN, where she worked for four years. They returned to Breckenridge in 1974 so Doug could begin farming with Donna’s father and brother. Donna then began her employment in the lab at St. Francis Medical Center in Breckenridge. Donna worked at St. Francis for the next 35 years (1974-2009), an opportunity she always treasured.

Donna’s special hugs will be dearly missed by: Her husband, Doug Tischer, Breckenridge, MN; Her daughter, Heidi (Anwar) Sadat, Tampa, FL and their daughters, Samira, Jasmin, and Ariana; Her son, Jeremy (Karensa) Tischer, Breckenridge, MN and their son, Hayden; Her mother, Audrey Kruse, Breckenridge, MN; Her brother, Richard (Denise) Kruse, Foxhome, MN and their children, Keri, Jamie and Eric; Her two sisters, Jennifer (Roger) Wohlwend, Toledo, OH and their daughter, Melissa, and Rebecca Kruse (her partner, Nancy) Huntsville, AR; Her mother-in-law, Joyce Tischer, Breckenridge, MN; Her brothers-in-law, Ron (Marilee), Dean (Trudy), Leon (Sheri), and Calvin Tischer and their families; Her Godmother, Monica Ehlert, Wahpeton, ND. She was preceded in death by: Her father, Richard H. Kruse and her father-in-law: Reuben Tischer.
