Elmer S. Wiegel, age 94, of Darlington, died on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at the Lafayette County Manor. He was born on Jan. 22, 1910, in Darlington, to Joseph and Mary (Schuhardt) Wiegel. Elmer was married to the former Hilda C. Alt on June 15, 1944, at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Seymour Township. They farmed all of their married life in Seymour Township until their retirement. Hilda preceded him in death on June 9, 1998. He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. He is survived by his children, Marilyn (Tom) Weber of Clark, Colo., Judy (Stuart) Bussey of Brodhead, Pam (Carl) Fenner of Darlington, Barb (Steve) Frazier of Monroe, Dorothy (Robert) Opie of Gratiot, Laura (Brett) Nolte of Darlington, Dawneen (Woody) Thompson of Brodhead, Lynnette (Dean) Ubersox of Darlington, Richard (Rosemary) Wiegel of Boscobel, Duane (Wanda) Wiegel of Darlington, Tim (Diane) Wiegel of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Rodger (Michelle) Wiegel of Shullsburg; 27 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; his brother, Leo Wiegel of Shullsburg; his sister, Irma (Bud) Loeffler of Milwaukee; and many nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a granddaughter, Kimberly Ann; a son-in-law, Larry Lenz; and 10 brothers and sisters. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, at OUR LADY OF HOPE CATHOLIC CHURCH, Seymour Township. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at the STEIL CAMACHO FUNERAL HOME, 206 E. Harriet St., Darlington, where a rosary service will be at 8 p.m.
