She was born in Grantsburg on October 22, 1922, the third daughter of John (Jack) and Edith (Olson) Wiederholt.
Lillian married Lyle Struck at the Pine City, Minnesota, Courthouse on April 6, 1946. The newlyweds moved to Minneapolis where Lyle worked for E.B. After several months of worrying, their son, Richard, was born with no ill effects of the polio.
Lillian worked at a variety of jobs while living in Grantsburg, including Crocker Drug, housekeeping for Dr. and Mrs. Bunker, working as a switchboard operator for Farmers Independent Telephone Company, working at McNally’s, and nursing assistant care to the elderly in the nursing home in the old Grantsburg Hospital.
She and Lyle moved to Ahwahnee, California in 1971 where they built a new home. After Lyle’s death in 1990, Lillian continued to reside in her home with her son, Richard, and his family until it became necessary for her to move a full-time nursing facility April 2013.
