He was baptized in Aurust 16, 1930 atNew Daniels and grew up serving the church. He was called into theservice during World War II and served In the Air Force. After basictraining at Fort Bragg, Clarence was shipped to England. He was inFrance for a while after the invasion of occupied Europe. At the end ofhis tour of duty he was shippedback to the U.S. and discharged. In civilian life Clarence was c0-owner of a country store, a barber inRine, Ga., and a farmed for several years. He married Mary (Sister) in1947 and moved to Baltimore, Maryland. While there, he worked in civilservice in a chemical section.
