Brittain, Janet Johns
February 18, 2003Janet Johns Brittain, of Daphne, Alabama, died Feb. 17, 2003. She was born in Chicago, IL on April 26, 1911. She graduated from the University of Chicago in 1933, and was a member of Mortar Board. Mrs. Brittain was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Herbert Warren III in 1979, and her second husband, Berford Brittain Jr. in 1998. Also preceding her in death was her granddaughter, Rev. Kirsten Elizabeth Lunde of York, PA, in 1997. A homemaker all of her married life, Mrs. Brittain was an avid gardener, a member of The Altar Guild of Union Church of Hinsdale, IL and a member of the Jr. Infant Welfare. She is survived by her daughters: Judith Warren of Kings Ferry, NY, and Joan Warren Sullivan of Daphne, AL and her son, John Wheeler Warren of Winchester, VA. Also surviving are grandchildren, Karin Thorndike of Middleburg, VA, John Wheeler Warren Jr., Robert Charles Warren of Tucson, AZ, and Peter Warren of Winchester, VA; and four great-grandchildren, Anna and Robert Walker of York, PA, and Samuel Augustus and Krissa Joan Thorndike of Middleburg, VA. There will be a private burial in Hinsdale, IL at Bronswood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to The National Bone Marrow Registry or St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Daphne, Alabama. Cremation arrangements by Bayview Funeral Home Eastern Shore Chapel, Daphne, Alabama.
