No one brought more laughter into our lives than our beloved mom. Often, she would wake us with an outrageous, and hilarious, story that she made up minutes earlier. Our mom was fun and funny. Her passions were the beach, the sun, animals, travel, plants, art, and her grandchildren. She traveled the world with our father, and knew the Latin names of every plant in her garden. Mom was the backbone of our family and was the foundation of our household. She was supportive of every charity and other interests that she and our father pursued. We could not ask for a better mother or a better upbringing.

Carolin Hansen Randall was born in Fresno, California on September 17, 1932, to Chester and Pauline Hansen. She attended Fresno High School and the University of California, where she was member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. Shortly thereafter she met our father, Denny Randall, on the beach in Santa Cruz. At age 21 our mom had three children-twin daughters Paula and Nancy, and son Stewart, Jr. She spent her summers at the beach in Santa Cruz and every February in Maui. On countless occasions she would generously offer her yard and garden for charitable events. Our mom's community involvement included; the Junior League, The Fresno Metropolitan Museum, Fresno Art Museum, The Fresno Historical Society, Pan-Hellenic, and others. She was also a member of Sunnyside and San Joaquin country clubs.

She was preceded in death by Stewart Denning Randall of Santa Cruz, her husband of 59 years; her parents, Chester Hansen and Pauline Hansen; in-laws, Dr. Samuel Bunker Randall and Margaret Denning Randall; brother, Finnell Hansen; brother-in-law, Samuel Bunker Randall, Jr.; sister-in-law, Patty Giffen Randall; nephew, Samuel B. Randall, III; niece, Margaret Randall Burda; and brother-in-law, Harry Andrews.

Our mom is survived by her sister, Paula Andrews; daughters, Paula Randall Stark, Nancy Randall Boone and her husband Andy; son, Stewart Randall, Jr. and his wife Monica; grandchildren, Carolin Schroeder and her husband Corey, Emily Schroeder and her husband Todd, Edward Stark, Jr., Will Giddings, Ginger Giddings, Grace Randall, and Stewart Randall, III; great-grandson, Matthew Schroeder; niece, Mary Randall Peterson; nephews, Phil Andrews, Pete Andrews, and Giffen Randall; and niece, Ellen Blankenship.

A private reception will be held at a later date. Remembrances made be made to The Nazareth House, 2121 N. First Avenue, Fresno, 93703, (559)237-2257; or Guide Dogs for the Blind, P.O. Box 3950, San Rafael, California 94912-3950, (800)295-4050.
