1 Details: James R. Whitbeck 1949 - 2014 James R. Whitbeck, 64, of Kenosha, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 22, 2014. Born in Kenosha on Aug. 18, 1949, he was the son of the late Robert and Alice (Madsen) Whitbeck. From April 1, 1970, until his honorable discharge on June 16, 1972, he proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force where he was stationed in England for two years. On April 12, 1969, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, he was united in marriage to Margaret Binninger. They were blessed with three daughters and 45 years of marriage. Jim was an assistant manager of Town & Country Ace Hardware for twelve years. With his wife, Peggy at his side, in 1993, he fulfilled a lifetime dream of owning and operating Jims Tooltime Outlet. After eight years, he closed the outlet and became a site manager for Government Liquidation, Scottsdale, Ariz.; with his office in Great Lakes; retiring after eight years. Jims love of tools was put to use with his talent for woodworking. He enjoyed taking his creations to craft fairs with his family. Jim was an avid Chicago Bears football fan. He collected autographed baseballs and loved all kinds of music-country, rock & roll and classic rock. He had fun on a few casino trips but mostly, Jim was happiest doing activities with his family; especially his grandchildren. Jim will be deeply missed by his wife, Peggy; his daughters, Denise Renee (Keith) Baley, Corey Marie Whitbeck and Kristen Ann Whitbeck, and his five grandchildren, Morgan and Mason Baley, Dante Whitbeck and Chase and Cody Ricchio. He is further survived by his brother, Jerry (Jill) Whitbeck; his sister, Judy (Wayne) Anderson and sister-in-laws, Judy (Jack) Kotlarz and Ann Binninger along with many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roger and Betty Binninger. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 28, 2014, at 12 Noon at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home. Interment with full military honors will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. A visitation for Jim will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Complete obituary information will be made available in the Sunday, April 27, edition of the Kenosha News.
