Because Mike was not a conventional kind of guy, he will not have a conventional funeral. Please join his family and friends to celebrate his life in the manner he lived his life. A party! A short memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Moose Club (3003 30th Avenue). A time to visit and enjoy each others company will be held at the club from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. Running bear head pieces are optional. Fechner, 58, a resident of Kenosha, died Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Müwaukee after a long courageous fight. Mike was born on Sep 16, in 1949, Kenosha to the late Edward Clio (Dewey) He graduat- ed from Brad- ford in 1967 and attended Whitewater and Parkside Universities. Because Mike was not a conventional kind of guy, he will not have a conventional funeral. He owned and operated Fec's Place for 32 years in downtown Kenosha. In his youth he was a talented ath- lete and continued with strength in both body and soul throughout his life. Not only a baseball player, he later enjoyed pool, darts and bowling. Besides being a ded- icated Colts and Packer fan, he was very involved in bene- fits for Special Olympics, Toys for Tots and anyone else in need. His annual Turkey Feasts were shared by many. He had a phenomenal memory never forgetting a name, face or song. Mike is survived by his sis- ter, Carolyn (Wally) Mille; "The Concubine" Jay Romanowski; nephew, Michael (Jaime) Lampos, and niece, Jamie Lampos. Hon- orary children, Kristen Shwaiko, Jim (Dawn) Romanowski; honorary grandchildren, Alley, Ana, Paul, Phil, Alex and Andy. His loyal companions Cle- hole and Lazer. Mike lived his life like he played his sports, "give it 100% or sit the bench." We would like to thank the spe- cial people in his life and through his struggle Dr. "House" (Shepler), Dr. Sobin, Dr. Franco and his entire team at Froedtert Hospital, his faithful employees and many friends which are too numerous to name.
