Details: Jeff Whetzel Jeff Whetzel, 43, a two-year resident of Piney Point in St, Mary's County and formerly of Mayo, died of heart failure Sept. 7 at St. Mary's Hospital in Leonardtown after a lengthy illness. Born in Annapolis on Nov. 11, 1959, Mr. Whetzel graduated from Southern High School in 1978. He worked for Airborne Express in Virginia as a deliveryman for several years. He enjoyed the water, crab- bing and fishing. Surviving are his wife, Carol N. Whetzel, whom he married May 9, 2003; one son, Bryan Scott Whetzel of Finksburg in Carroll County; his parents, Charles and Louise Whetzel of Mayo; and one brother, Kevin Scott Whetzel of Davidsonville. He was the brother of the la Steven B. Whetzel. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edge- water, Burial will be private.
