The New Schloessel massacre is also known as the "Red Massacre".

Source 1: " Nue Schlossel" (found under: http://www.oocities.org/vienna/choir/5362/nue.html) part of "The Schiffmacher List".

The treaty of Brest-Litovsk with Germany took Russia out of the war in March 1818.

During this German occupation of 1918, an attempt wasmade to establish an independent Ukrainian State, but Red Russia used its brutal power and weapons to take back the Ukraine, and by 1922 attached it formally to the USSR, but with Russia clearly in control.

By this treaty, Russia lost a third of its people and a third of its resources, for the treaty demanded the independence from Russia of Poland, Finland, and the Baltic States, and virtual German control of the Ukraine.

Almost miraculous the Bolshevik Government survived, that it did so was largely due to an Ukrainian named " Lev Davidovich Bronstein " who had taken the name of" Leon Trotsky ".( Revolutionary Leader)

As Lenin's lieutenant, Leon Trotsky hastily organised the Workers and Peasants Red Army (1918)

And hammered them in to fightingunits, Trotsky proved to be a brilliant militair organizer, by 1922 he had quelled all military opposition.

The foreigen armies had gone and the Bolsheviks were fully in control of the country.

But units of Bolsheviks had been roaming out of control in the country side, and many atrocities were committed by the Bolsheviks on the people of the Kutschurgan and other Ukrainian Villages.

On that day in August 1919 the Bolsheviks entered the Village of Neu Schlossel and committed great transgression and atrocities to the German descendent farmers in the Kutschurgandistrict in the name of Communism.

The Settlement of Nue Schlossel was founded in the late 1870.

Andreas Volk, is named as the founder of the Nue Schlossel commune

There is a mention in a Birth Register in 1877 of a " Ferdinand Volk " who may well have been the first recorded Birth in Nue Schlossel

In the book

"PARADISE ON THE STEPPE"

by Joseph Height:

Joseph describes the events of August 1, 1919

in Neu Schlossel ---- Now known as: Novo- Andrejaschevski

He describes the attrocities commited by the Bolscheviks on the people of the Kutschurgan villages and says:

On that fatal day in 1919 seventeen men were brutally murdered by the Bolscheviks.

Andreas Volk, the founder of thecommune, was captured in flight and brought back to the hamlet where his captors subjected him to savage torture in view of all of the residents.

After cutting off his fingers and mutilating his face with a bayonet, the sadistic henchmen left him dying in the street for two days, more dead than alive

No one was permitted to approach him until he had expired.

The corpse of Franz Moser, son of Karl Moser was left lying in the gutted courtyard of Jakob Fetsch until the dogs had torn it to pieces.
