Mrs. Louise Marx Rites Saturday
SCRIBNER -- Services for Mrs. Louise Marx, 74, who died Thursday, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the United Lutheran Church. The Rev. R. Pfeiffer will officiate.
Mrs. Marx was born Aug 4, 1882, at Hooper and lived in the Hooper-Scribner area all her life. She was a member of the United Lutheran Church and the Missionary Society. She married Fred MarxMar 17, 1905.
Survivors include the widower, Fred; three daughers, Mrs. Martin Hilbers of Scribner, Mrs. Alfred Low of Burlington, Colo., Mrs. Robert Capps of Canyon City, Colo; two sisters, Mrs. Fred Kunz of Hooper and Mrs. Gesine Suhr of Plano, Ill; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery at Hooper. Wollmer and Warne have charge.
The body will lie in state at Wollmer and Warne at Hooper 7-9 p.m. Friday and taken to the church at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Rites Held Saturday for Mrs. Fred Marx
Mrs. Fred Marx, nee Louise Johanna Wessel, daughter of Diedrick and Metta Wessel was born at Hooper, Nebraska, Aug. 4, 1882. She was united in marriage with Fred Marx on March 17, 1905 at Hooper. Last Sunday they had commemorated their 52nd wedding anniversary.
Mrs. Marx was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Hooper. In 1935 she was one of the charter members of United Evangelical Lutheran Church of Scribner. She was active in the church and the United Lutheran Missionary Aid.
Her sudden passing away came at her home early Thursday morning, March 21, 1957. Shewas preceded in death by a brother, two sisters and a daughter.
Surviving her are her husband, Fred Marx; three daughters, Paula, Mrs. Martin Hilbers of Scribner; Louise, Mrs.Alfred Low, Burlington, Colo.; Evelyn, Mrs. Robert Capps of Canon City, Colo.; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mrs. Hermine Kunz of Scribner; and Mrs. Gesine Suhr of Plano, Ill.; Mrs. Catherine Windhusen, Medical Lake, Wash.
Mrs. Marx was a genteel, kindly woman of sincere Christian faith, beloved by her family and many friends.
Pallbearers were: Virgil Hilbers, John D. Meyer, Ludolf Peters, John Poppe, all of Scribner; Dean Hilbers of Omaha, and Eugene Hilbers of Sterling, Colo.
Mrs. John H. Lamberty accompanied the singers at the organ in the church. Mrs. Edward Dau and Mrs. Herman Storjohann, John Lamberty and Leslie Meyer sang: “I come to the garden alone’ and ‘Have thine own way.’
Burial was in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church cemetery east of Scribner.
Rev. R.R. Pfeiffer officiated the service in United Ev. Lutheran Church, Scribner, Saturday, Mar. 23 at 2 p.m.

Louise Johanne was born to Diedrich and Anna Wessel on August 4, 1882, and died Mar 21, 1957. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. Paul's church in the community north of Hooper, Dodge Co., Nebraska.
She married Gottfried Fredrick (Fred) Marx on Mar 17, 1905, in Hooper, Dodge, NE. They had four children: Paula Elfreda, Irma B.E., Louise, and Evelyn Margarethe.
