Oswald Suhr Weds Miss Nellie Nelson

   Mr. Oswald Suhr and Miss Nellie Nelson, daughter of Swan Nelson, north of Wayne, were united in marriage at the home of the bride last evening, Rev. P. Pearson performing the ceremony.  The young couple will live on a farm in the Concord vicinity.

MRS. NELLIE SUHR WEDS COLON MAN            (handwritten at top “1964”)

Mrs. Nellie M. Suhr of Fremont and Mr. Clarence Clouse of Colon were united in marriage on Sunday afternoon at 5 o’clock at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Omaha, the Rev. Hugo Welchert officiating. Only members of their immediate family were present.

   Attending the couple were Miss Delores Clouse of Lincoln, daughter of the groom, and Mr. Delwyn Helgenberger of Scribner, son-in-law of the bride.

   Following the ceremony, a dinner reception was held at the Danish Room at the Hilltop House. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Russel Johnson, Douglas, Thomas, Cynthia and Pamela; Mr. and Mrs. Delwyn Helgenberger, David and Stephen; Miss Delores Clouse, Rev. and Mrs. Hugo Welchert and Nancy.

   Mrs. Clouse is employed at the Safeway Stores in Fremont as a cashier and Mr. Clouse is engaged in farming. They will be at home to their many friends and relatives after Feb. 1st at Colon, Nebr.

Pernella Clouse

   Pernella Minnie "Nellie" Clouse, 95, died Friday, May 18, 2001, at Fremont Area Medical Center.

   Pernella Nelson was born Dec. 19, 1905 at Wausa. She grew up on a farm near Wayne. After attending Wayne State College, she taught school for three years in Wayne County.

   She married Oswald Suhr Feb. 10, 1926 at Wayne. After her marriage, the couple lived on a farm near Uehling for 31 years. He died Sept. 17, 1959. After her husband Oswald's death, she moved to Fremont in 1960. She was employed at the former Safeway Grocery Store and at the Fremont Area Medical Center. She then married Clarence D. "Buck" Clouse Jan. 19, 1964 at Omaha. The couple lived on a farm near Colon until moving back to Fremont in 1971. She had been residing at the Good Samaritan Center in Scribner since August 2000. She was a member of Presbyterian Church at Fremont and United Presbyterian Women; Mariner's Club; Fraternal Order of Eagles 200 Auxiliary; A.A.R.P. and R.E.A.C.T.

   Survivors include: two daughters, Nadine (Mrs. Russel) Johnson of Scribner and Norma Lee Helgenberger of Fremont; six grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; one stepdaughter, DeLoris Clouse of Lincoln. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, five infant brothers and sisters, three sisters and a great-grandson. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Presbyterian Church in Fremont. The Rev. Stephen J. Brownlee will officiate. Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 9 tonight at Moser Memorial Chapel and one hour prior to service at the church. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, north of Hooper. A memorial has been established to the church.
