Mass of Christian Burial for Germaine Terfehr Kieffer of McMinnville will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. James Catholic Church, McMinnville, with the Rev. Thomas Farley officiating. Interment will be in St. James Catholic Cemetery, McMinnville. The chapel of Macy & Son Funeral Directors will be open for visitation from noon to 7 p.m. Friday. Mrs. Kieffer died May 25, 1999, in her home. She was 83. She was born Feb. 18, 1916, in Lisbon, N.D., the daughter of Jeremiah and Mathilda Weiler Sullivan. Raised and educated in Lisbon, she graduated from high school there. She also worked in a hospital in Lisbon. She and Ray Terfehr were married Dec. 26, 1939, in Fargo, N.D. She moved to Seattle in 1940. After World War II, she and her husband moved to Minnesota and farmed there. She moved in 1956 to Buena Park, Calif., where she became a nurse and worked for many years in a hospital. She moved to McMinnville in the mid-1970s and worked as a nurse in McMinnville Community Hospital until her retirement in 1982. She was preceded in death by Mr. Terfehr in 1978. She and Eugene Kieffer were married Sept. 28, 1985, in McMinn-ville. Mrs. Kieffer moved to North Dakota in 1985 and returned to the northwest in 1992. She enjoyed visiting friends and family, crafts, travel and shopping. She belonged to St. James Catholic Church. Survivors include four daughters, Debra Kincade and Dee Newell, both of McMinnville, Diane Edwards of Buena Park, Calif., and Donna Nicholson of Port Orchard, Wash.; two sons, Roger Terfehr of Laguna Niguel, Calif., and Ray Terfehr Jr. of Hemet, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 10 stepchildren. She was preceded in death by her second husband in 1992.
