Esther Rozum, age 92, of Seymour, beloved wife of the late George L. Rozum, died peacefully on October 18, 2017 at Griffin Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born in Ansonia on October 15, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Frank and Anna Spiwak Worobel. A graduate of Ansonia High School, she was a longtime resident of Seymour and a faithful and lifelong member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church, where she served on many boards and committees through the years. For 47 years, Mrs. Rozum was an enduring fixturein the Seymour Town Hall; beginning her career as a clerical worker in 1965, moving to Tax Collector, to Assistant Town Clerk, appointed the Town Clerk in 1994 until the time of her retirement in 2012, and a member of the CT Town Clerks Association. Mrs. Rozum enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens, but her greatest love was her family - especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren she was blessed to care for. She is survived by her devoted children, Dennis (Michelle) Rozum, Sandra (Clinton) Syombathy and Janice (Floyd) Moir, all of Seymour; 11 cherished grandchildren and12 (soon to be 14) cherished great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband of 53 years, she was predeceased by brothers, Michael and John Worobel and sisters, Olga Kowalsky, Mary Piorkowski and June Chucta.
