A brief article in "The Chronicle. Mount Vernon, NY issue date March 25, 1898" states that "Mr John Rohrs is erecting a fine new house on Second Avenue near First Street. When completed it will be occupied by Mr. Charles Hemingway and family."It should be noted that Charles and John's daughter Catherine were married two years earlier. They continued to reside in this house throughout their lives, which was located between Catherine's parents and her brother John Jr. 1910 Census shows Hemingway's at #32. John Sr. and Sophie Rohrs at #33, John Jr. and Louise Rohrs at #34 all on Third Ave.

Germany Birth & Baptisms, 1558-1898. 1895 Pelham Directory lists Kate as resident at 3rd Ave. near 1st. (same as John Sr. & John Jr.), 1910 Census (Kate & Charles Hemingway) neighbors to Rohrs, and partners in business as masons. Company called "Hemingway and Rohrs" Masons listed in numerous local directories such as the Pelham and New Rochelle Directory.
