Notizen zu dieser Person
Spent long hours and many months rebuilding a home purchased by his son George P. during the late 1940's in Golden's Bridge, NY. To us he often said "I will box your ears if you don't behave." Later he would bounce us on his knee and play withus though in his 70's. (from George L.-grandson) Had a first wife who died in childbirth along with the child. Everyone knew, but never talked about and her name remains a mystery.
In 1905, John Arnd lived with wife Katie Fuchs Rohrs and children, Arthur b. 1902 and Florence 9 months on Union Ave. in Mount Vernon. Union Ave. was bordered by Jackson St. and Franklin Ave. In the 1905 NY Census Katie states that she came to America in 1895. By 1910, the family was living in the new house at 767 Pelhamdale Ave. in Pelham. Buried in Rohrs plot with wife Kate Fuchs.
Note that Grandpa Rohrs lost his first wife and child shortly after childbirth in 1898.
