Charles E Kunselman, aged 42 who suffered a broken back Friday, May 3 in the Markle-Bullers coal mine, near Dora, Jefferson County, died Friday morning, May 17, 1940 in the Adrian Hospital where he had been a patient since the accident. Surviving him are his widow, Garnet Troup Kunselman; two sons, Ellsworth and Bernard, and a daughter, Bernice, all at home.
Charles Ernest Kunselman, aged 42 years, 8 months and 25 days, died Friday, May 17, 1940 in the Adrian hospital, Punxsutawney, where he had been a patient since being injured in a mine accident May 3, when he suffered a fracture of the spine.
He was born August 22, 1897 in Red Bank township, Armstrong County, the son of Samuel and Elizabeth (Shaffer) Kunselman, and resided in that section all his life. He was a miner by trade.
In 1918 he was married to Garnet Troup, who survives with two sons and one daughter: Ernest Ellsworth, Bernard Ellwood and Bernice Geraldine, at home. One son and two daughters are deceased.
Also surviving are five brothers and three sisters: Edward Kunselman, Dora, Pa; Irvin, Boyd, Elton M, Pierce; Wallace of Kittanning; Mrs J M Redinger, Martin's Ferry, Ohio; Mrs Elias Pohne weitere Einträgell, Ringgold and Mrs C E Snyder, Healthville. Mr Kunselman was a member of the Pierce Evangelical church.
