"Mrs. Mary G. Stangl, 96, formerly of Marshfield, died at 12 25 p.m. Wednesday at Family Heritage Nursing Home, Wisconsin Rapids. She had been there since March 20, 1976. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church, the Rev. George C. Passehl officiating. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wesley are to provide music. Relatives and friends of Mrs. Stangl will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday and until time of services Saturday at Rembs/Kundinger Funeral Home, where St. John's Rosary-Altar Society and Missionary Society will combine to say a rosary at 3 p.m. Friday. A parish vigil will be at 7:15 p.m. Friday. The former Mary G. Geiger was born March 3, 1884 in Dorchester and attended schools there. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. George (Anna Aigner) Geiger. On Oct. 23, 1911 at St. John's Catholic Church, she and John J. Stangl were married. She had resided in Marshfield since her marriage. He died Jan. 21, 1931. Mrs. Stangl was affiliated with St. John's Catholic Church, the Rosary-Altar Society, Missionary Society, and Royal Neighbors of America. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Ros T. (Adeline) Bille of Marshfield, Mrs. John (Helen) Rogers of Wisconsin Rapids, and Mrs. Eugene (Betty) Beauchaine of Roanoke, Ind.; a son, James Stangl of Stanley; 22 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
