In 1927 the Farmers and Mechanics National Bank in Ft. Worth merged with the Ft. Worth National Bank. In 1928 Loddie Holt Nutt, Sr. moved to Bradshaw, TX and was with the Citizens Bank there. Later, he was Postmaster in Monahans, TX until his death June 30, 1941. Active member of First Baptist Church of Ft. Worth, Texas. He was Superintendent of the Sunday School for many years. The pastor was J. Frank Norris. L. H. just happened to be in the pastor's office on Sunday School business at the time when a man who had telephoned the pastor that he was on his way to his office to kill him walked through the door and Rev. Norris shot him. No details are known, but there was a trial and L. H. was called to testify in the trial since he was the only eye witness.
