Mrs. Herman Hinkeldey called by death Sunday. Had been in failing health the past few years and end was Expected. Resided in Lakefield past twelve years. Went to home of son John in Delafield Township for constantcare. Mrs. Herman Hinkeldey died at the home of her son John in Delafield township Sunday Morning. May 6th, after an illness extending over aperiod of several years. Dora Martha Eliza Harjes, daughter of Mr. andMrs. Fred Harjes, who was born July 13, 1870, in Cook County, Illinois. Soon after birth she was baptized in the name of the Triune God. a few years later her parents moved to Alta, Iowa, and located on a farm. She attended Christian day school in Hanover, Iowa, and in 1885 was confirmed by Rev. Dornself. On December 5, 1890, she entered the holy estate of matrimony with Mr. Herman Hinkeldey of Aurelia, Iowa. Rev. Henry Wehking performing the ceremony. In 1893 the couple moved to Lawrence County, Kansas, but after residing there a year returned to Aurelia, Iowa. in 1906 they moved onto a farm near Okabena, this county where they resided eight years, and then came to Lakefield. After spending two years as residents of Lakefield, they returned to the Okabena Farm. Three years later, in 1919 they moved to Delafield Township, onto a farm now occupied by their son John. Spending one year there, they turned the farm over to their son and moved back to Lakefield, where they have resided continuously the past twelve years. The past four or five years Mrs.Hinkeldey's health became impaired and about two months ago her condition became so serious that she should not be left alone and in order that she might have the necessary care Mr. and Mrs. Hinkeldey went to thehome of the son in Delafield township. Sunday morning May 6, while waiting for her husband to read a sermon for her, she peacefully fell asleep to awaken in the kingdom prepared for faithful servants of the Lord.She was 61 years, nine months and 25 days old. Two Children came to bless the couple, namely Mrs. William Wrase and John. She is survived by her deeply bereaved husband, with whom she lived happily more than 41 years; one daughter, Mrs. William Wrase, on son; John Hinkeldey; Five grandchildren;two brothers, John Harjes of White, S.D.; Fred Harjes of Storm Lake, Iowa; five sisters; Louise Hustedt of Hanover, Iowa; Nora Brown, Waverly, Iowa; Mrs. John Linge of Storm Lake, Iowa; Mrs. John Huck of Waverly, Iowa; Mrs. Henry Grieme of Storm Lake, Iowa; and many otherrelatives and friends. Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon a1 o'clock at the Delafield home and 2 o'clock at the Immanuel Lutheranchurch in this city, Rev. A Paul in charge. The pallbearer were John Bauman, John Kalander, Herman Shultz, John Wendt, Aug. Krueger and Aug.Hecht. Theo. Wacker and Mrs. Wm. Grein sang a duet, Rev. Paul accompanying them on the organ. Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Lakefield Standard, Lakefield, Jackson County, Minnesota. May 12, 1932.
