Katharyn Caroline Otto, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Hustedt, was born Aug. 24th, 1888, at Providence of Hanover, Germany, and departedthis life in the afternoon of February 16, 1950, at the ages 61 yearsplus. Although she had not been well the past several days her death came very suddenly and unexpectedly, caused by a cerebral hemorrhage.

Early in infancy she was received into the kingdom of God through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism. On March 16th, 1902, she was confirmed in theLutheran Church by Rev. Wehking. She ever was and remained a devout and faithful member of her church, transferring her membership to St. John's in Storm Lake when they moved here. Her entire life was an exemplification of the Christian life, lived in kindness and devotion to her husband, her family and her friends.

On Dec. 10th, 1908, she was united in holy wedlock with John D. Otto. This union was blessed with the following children: Ervin Otto, Mabel Friederich, Ralph Otto, and a son, Orville, who died in infancy. She is also survived by Opal Hinkeldey, who have been orphaned, was received into the Otto home and there found kindness and love. Seven grandchildrenmourn her departure as well as her two sisters, Mrs. Carl Radke and Mrs. William Radke, besides a large number of other relatives, friends and acquaintances.

Services were held Sunday afternoon at 1:45 at the Sliefert funeral home and at 2:00 from St. John Lutheran Church with Rev. A. O. Bleeke in the pulpit. Burial was in the Buena Vista Memorial Park. Bearers were Harry Otto, Arthur Radke, Vernon Otto, Ray Hustedt, Edgar Fahr and MartinOtto. Music was by Velma Oatman, Mrs. A. Gutz, Gerald Iversen and Royal Pitchers. Organist was Mrs. Doris Norman.
