At the age of 14 he was confirmed and received into full communicant membership of this church until death and died in the faith which he confessed, namely, that a man is justified by faith without thedeeds of the law.

They moved to southeastern Nebraska, where they located on a farm in Johnson and Nemaha counties. To them eleven children were born, seven boys and four girls, three of whomdied in infancy. On May 16, 1923 his wife was called home to her finalreward.

Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth; Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors, for their works do follow them."
